Mudflat hiking in Cuxhaven
Hello and welcome
A mudflat hiking in Cuxhaven or to the island Neuwerk, a Taster mudflat hike, a Tidal creek hike, an Adventure flood and a Maritime mudflat tour, we offer these various options to young and old alike, individuals, families, groups and school classes, to discover the fascinating and unique Wadden Sea.
Our Wadden Sea is a national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, covering an area as large as 483,000 football pitches or 3,450 km2 and only 7,500 years old, a landscape that is constantly changing with the ebb and flow of the tide, with unique flora and fauna. This very special atmosphere allows you to forget your everyday life and experience a feeling of space and tranquillity. Unforgettable experiences with us.
We look forward to seeing you.
Trial mudflat tour
A great experience for young and old alike. We will show you beach crabs, lugworms and other creatures, mussels and periwinkles in the mudflats near the beach. Together we will discover this unique flora and fauna.
Tidal creek hike
Tidal creeks are watercourses and channels that carry water at high and low tide and can also be dry at low water. They constantly change in width and depth and shift from year to year. This hike is impressively exciting.
Adventure flood
Experience the tides up close with us. Where we had dry mudflats under our feet just a moment ago, half an hour later we are knee-deep in the tide. A truly exciting experience of nature.
Maritime mudflat tour
A mudflat hike with a difference. We walk along the guide dam, with a great view of the Elbe estuary and the shipping traffic passing very close by. Depending on the season, we find species of mussels, jellyfish and starfish that are rarely or never seen in areas close to the beach.
Mudflat hiking to Neuwerk
The mudflat hike to Neuwerk combines impressive nature with physical activity. It is an experience that is hard to find anywhere else. The island is a real gem with friendly islanders, cosy restaurants, a fortified tower dating from 1310, a diverse bird life and beautiful salt marshes.
